vss sensor replacement
help please.... the gremlens have me firmly in thier grasp..
2 weeks ago the water pump grrrr
now the speedo not working and the abs stayed on... two off on cycles cleared that and when cleared then the overdrive off started blinking away and would not engage/disengae...
seems from other posts it might be the vss sensor that is on top of the differential.....
I know how to drive them..... I know how to tow with them....
PLEASE ...can someone give me a how to in very very very simple terms to replace this 26 dollar part...
I looked and saw what has to be a sensor on the top toward the front of the rear dif... it has wires out the top and I can swivel it in the dif...
Does it just pop out? I saw not screws or bolts/.... How would this be removed... specifics please...
THANKS IN ADVANCE
everything of course is fine this am.... all I did last night was move the sensor around in its holder.... back and forth///
but anyone with specific changing instructions... PLEASE!!!!
Unplug the wiring from the sensor. Remove the bolt holding the sensor down. This bolt also keeps the sensor from swiveling in the hole. Pull the sensor out.
If you are missing the bolt that could be part of your problem.
the other dealer wanted 27 big difference between dealers....
and easy easy fix ... one bolt one conector in and out.. I am now a certified vss mechanic...
also talked to 4 other ford owners.. vans etc... they have ALL had to replace theirs at 60 plus k miles...
interesting....
THANKS...
