Please check out the 2004 F-150 forum and read the thread "Rebate on Screw." If you're X-Plan, there's an extra $500 for you. Already, there are dealers trying to steal it from customers. Sad......
I asked my dealer about the $500 xplan rebate. (I'm buying f250) and he said it was only available if I finance through ford.
So- two questions:
Is the rebate good for the 250's?
Do I have to finance with Ford to receive the rebate?
Oh, and one more question- Is the FTE Purchase program anything I should be interested in? I'm buying the truck for $300 under xplan. I'd be interested in the details of the FTE program either way, if you would be so kind as to email them.
Thanks in advance.
The $500 X-Plan is good for A/D/X/Z-plan buyers only, and applies to EVERY F-Series truck: F-150/ 250/ 350, Heritage, Lightning- no exceptions.
And you did VERY well on price, slightly better than the FTE program. That's assuming the dealer isn't using your $500 to get you that great deal. If you have any problems ("oh, that $500 for x-plan doesn't apply to use here in Texas"), just let me know.
The dealer is giving $300 below xplan plus the $500 xplan rebate. The only other rebate I know of (that I qualify for) is the$2500 from ford. So, total is 3300.00 under Xplan.
I don't mind going with ford financing if i have to in order to utilize the 500 xplan rebate, but i had planned check around for better rates.
Hey Jeff...so does this mean I will get the extra $500 on my deal? I hope so. Does it expire soon or will it at least go until the end of the month? That would be awesome if I can get that extra $500 off. Will make the wife a little happier too

Well, uh, you see, uh...........OH! This program only applies to people that live in states with TWO names (New York, South Dakota, Rhode Island), and, well, since you live in Kentucky, which isn't even NEAR a state with two names................
The program ends March 31st. As long as your truck has left the plant by then, we can get the rebate, so it looks good.
You REALLY weren't expecting a perfectly-straight answer from a CAR SALESMAN, were you?
Well no....hehe...but thanks for eventually getting to the answer.
That's great. My wife (and me) will be thrilled to get the extra cash. I still need a bed mat. Those are less than $100 I think. Maybe I can get that now
I have a F250 SC 4X4 Lariat 6.0 Auto on order, will be built this week, (heck maybe its built already). I have access to X-plan so the rebates I am expecting:
$ 1,500 Ford
$ 500 X-plan Cash
$ 1,000 From Ford Credit (sent me a letter said if I buy a vehicle and finance thru FMC I get $1,000 rebate)
I got a good price for my trade (02 Superduty) and got the dealer to throw in additional rustproofing and a couple hundred dollars toward a spray in bedliner.
So my question assuming this dealer will meet their quota would they make more selling to me as a retail customer so they can get up to $1,000 dealer cash (then split with me). Or would they be better off going through X-plan. Does Ford give them additional monies on an X-plan sale?
I am just trying to understand the process so if the opportunity arrises I can profit from my knowledge. Don't want to hear the dealer tell me how much money they are losing on my sale haha.

But that's how us car dealers stay in business, by losing money on each deal...
Stick with the X-Plan. The dealer gets a commission, which he'd lose if you switch to a retail sale, and the commission is probably a little more that half the grand you're willing to split with him. Besides, it sounds like he really worked with you on the deal, and unless he was a complete JERK, is there any need to work him further?
Hey Jeff...I'm up in Detroit all week. Please let me know if you find that my order was built. VOPC was saying "as of March 9" for awhile, even before March 9 so I'm wondering if that pointed to it being built on the 9th. I hope so Anyway...if you check and it's built, shoot me an email or post on here. I'll try to check often as I can.
I'll let you know if anything changes. Right now, it just shows "Scheduled" on Ford's software. It also says something about getting it here BEFORE March 31st for an extra $1,000......
