Just rebuilt the 300 in my 95 F-150 4 x 4, 5 speed standard. Rally cam, balanced, valve job etc., but wanted to put on headers and custom exhaust to finish the job. I can't find headers. Hooker makes unit for 87-93 but nothing for 95. Anyone know of a supplier for headers for the 95? Can Hooker 93s be modified to fit a 95? Also any suggestions for exhaust would be appreciated.
Hookers are super expensive compared to everyone else's (hedman, pacesetter, dynomax) and I've heard that EFI manifolds are just about as good and some people use those instead of headers on older trucks like mine. As for the exhaust, here in NE I'd run true dual 2.5 straight pipes angled out the back with 4in stainless tips, no mufflers or cats, but that's me. I love em loud, there is no better feeling in the world then when people cover there ears when you rod it by.
This is my first reply, so pardon the newbie. I have been doing quite a bit of research on the 300 IL6, and mine is a 93. For headers, Clifford performance (www.cliffordperformance.com) has black ceramic coated headers for the truck and bronco 2&4 wheel drive IL6 300CI 1980 and up. The part number is 53-0960.
HI,
I have a set of Clifford headers my 90' 300. They work great. You will want to get better gaskets for them though, the ones that come with them are crap. They are the best buy for the $$ compared to just about every one else.
Dynomax makes a great cat back system for that motor ,it's the Super Turbo system.
