Exhaust pipe

I've seen that some say 2.5" exhaust tubes is better tha 3" tubes for the 4.9L

Why is that ?

With the 3in. it is to big and you will lose some bottom end, so they say, I have 3in. with out cats or a muffler and have tons of power! I say if it's mandrel bent then go 21\2in. if it's a crapy exhaust sop job then go 3in. just my $0.02
