NEEDED - LONG BED for 1979 f100
i need to replace the Long bed on my 1979 f-100 w/single gas tank truck.
Does anyone on FTE have an idea wheer I can get one?

Good luck find a good bed for under a Grand... I need one for my 4x4.. Its trashed.. I got lucky with my F-100.. I got it for free and the bed is the best.. keep a look out around your area for one.. I found one for $300 but its a 76 model with no gas cap door....

Why not just replace the bad side panel?? As long as ur bed aint like mien.. faling all apart.. the Bed is up here in missouri.. Camden Point to be exact.. I can try to get ahold of the guy.. But im thinking about buying it too.

well she hit it directly on the side ... so the hole side of the bed got dented in ... it "U"ed in .. so if i had to replace it part by part i would have to get the bottom of the bed also .. plus new replacement parts are WAY to expensive. she hit it so bad that the rear end got bent, so i had to replace it also.

i already replaced the rear end .. you read it wrong lol. i DEFINATLEY need the bed. well the only other thing i would need to replace are the WHEELS. i don't want factory wheels... i want aftermarket wheels. she hit me and spun me 180. SHE HIT ME HARD!!!

Have you tried the classifieds here? That is were parts are supposed to be bought and sold. Not in the forums. Post a want ad in the classified section and see what happens.

No prob. Good luck on finding a good bed, they are few and far between. In 73. Ford added that center hole in the bed rail and water gets down in there and rots the wheelwells from the inside out.
If you ever notice, most 72 and earlier, don't rot out as bad because they don't have the center hole.
Most of the good beds that you will find usually will have had either bed rails or a topper on it.
They are out there, they are going to be costly though.

well my bed was REALLY nice .. no rust .. do damage.. then a lady wrecked into my truck *mad face*. if that didn't happen i wouldn't need a bed. cause it was perfict. well i hope to find one cause i need to drive it soon lol

Also don't forget WHOLE trucks! I also needed a bed for my 79, but couldn't find one. I did however find a whole truck for $500 that even ran. The cab was in bad but fixable shape, but the bed had just alittle rust on it. So besides the bed, I got a complete source of other parts I need now or in the future.
