I am waiting on my 2000 XLT CC V10 to arrive and wanted to get a headstart on improving the stereo equipment. Can anyone tell me the speaker arrangements and their sizes? Open to any suggestions on equipment also.
The Super Duty Trucks Speaker location is the same for 2000 as they were in 99. Front doors and rear doors. The speakers are all the same standard Ford Corporate units that you find in all but the extra premium systems.

There's 4 6X8's, one in each door and one on each pillar. (At least in the reg. cab) Last time I checked Crutchfield, they didn't have any 6x8's that would fit just 4" and 6".
Like I said, last time I checked they didn't have any 6X8's listed. I just checked to see what they had and their list of speakers that will fit has at least tripled since last I was there.
JL Audio makes a stealth box that replaces the middle part of the front seat that holds a 10" sub. You can't even tell it's there except that it is harder than the regular seat.
Speakers: 5x7's fit just fine.
Stereo: It's a Double-DIN opening, but takes some minor modifications to get two units (stereo+EQ) in there. 1.5 DIN goes in easy.
