work related rant
In my dept. there is one head supervisor, a second in command, and seven group leaders. The seven group leaders are young and don't do squat to control the "workers" (meaning me and the rest). The second in command is no better than the group leaders. The head supervisor is always in his office.
Doesn't that sound great already?
I know people in the other dept. and they say that their ONE supervisor keeps the entire room in order and things under control. I would love to move to that dept., but I don't like the type of work they do. The dept. that I'm in is so loosely run. People don't care if they come back from breaks late or if they keep standing around when we are supposed to work. One of the workers is being a real smart-you know what with my group leader. She should be canned for it, but, of course, they won't do anything. She just gets my group leader all mad and riled up. Also, we have one lady in the group that has no sense of the fact that she is at work. What does she do? She sings with the classic rock radio station. Out of key . . . loudly . . . and she also whistles. Why doesn't anyone do anything?
In this type of situation I have no clue as to what I am able to do. I go to work and keep my mouth shut. I don't bother anyone and I do my job the best that I can. The work place is no place to be messing around. In a situation, such as this, am I able to go to the "higher ups" and let them know what's happening? Lord knows they haven't a clue now. Should I go to my group leader instead? Or should I just sit back, grit my teeth and wish I worked somewhere else? I really don't want to leave this place. Everything about the job works for me (schedule and all) and the pay is good.
**'cold ones' referring to a few glasses of milk.
moo.
But then, here I am hanging on the net while at work. The difference is I know how to screw off, and buckle down when things get stupid.

When they did cutbacks (layoffs) they cut over half of the workforce and kept all of the executives. They couldn't understand why the were only able to cut costs by 15%!?!
Don't you just love corporate America?
