If you are planning to do any power upgrades, you may want to consider a programmer that has a built-in code reader. You can check out some that are advertised on this site.
The Cread@r (plain OBDII) works fine on my 4.6L gas. I thought all vehicles had to be OBDII compliant. You turbo diesel guys may have more options - seems like there are a raft of mods available for the Power Strokers.
