speedo & odo calibration
Lets pretend that my dealer will calibrate my speedometer. Lets pretend that after doing so, it is **EXACTLY** correct.
Does it logically follow that my odometer will now also be **EXACTLY** correct?
Now lets reverse the situation...lets say that my dealer calibrates my odometer EXACTLY correct. Does it follow then that my speedo will also be correct?
If one is correct, does the other HAFTA be correct?
Thank you....... Lee Carkenord
If one value is calibrated one would think the other is by default also calibrated. NOT SO. Calibration is performed with a strict adhearence to a predetermined accuracy. Just because your speedo is correct within 1 mile per hour at 60 mph (1/60 accuracy) does not mean you will be measuring 59 - 61 miles at an actual 60 mile mark. The delta may/will be cumalative with time/distance.
Please post intelligent questions or atleast have a clear thought prior to posting these questions! Thanx for wasting my time.
