Flashes

Hello everyone:
I just bought my first diesel truck and I love it. It's a 350 SD RC with the 6.0 and the new tranny with 940 miles. I get about 15 MPG which I'm not that happy with. I have been reading a lot about what you guys have wrote about the flash updates and I have a question. Every once in a while after driving at least 10 miles, when I stop it idles really rough, you shut it off and turn it back on and its fine. I called my local dealer and told them about the problem and they suggested that I get the Dec. flash. They ran my vin # and said it already had the Oct flash since my truck built date was 11/25/04 Which flash causes the noise, tranny, power, and milage problems? If its the Dec flash I can live with a rough idle. If not will I be OK to get the DEC. flash. Also Green makes a high performance cleanable air filter. Will it give me better milage? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Since you already have the Oct flash, you are probably ok to get the Dec flash. Go to Flashes link to see what is contained in the flashes. They are cumulative. Since your truck has the Oct flash don't worry about the symptoms you read about. The problem arises when you have a condition that a new flash takes away. Go ahead and let them check it out. The Dec flash is an improvement over the Oct. flash.
