DS front door handle problem.

DS front door handle problem.
Sometimes the stupid thing just doesn't work! The door is unlocked, but the outside handle won't open the door. I have to either open the rear door and reach up to the front door and open it, or reach through the passenger side. This is starting to annoy me. Anyone ever had this problem, or more importantly, anyone ever FIX this problem?

Well, I found some time to check this out. Everything is connected. but either the rod from the door handle is binding somewhere, or some of the linkages are in need of lubrication. I sprayed the heck out of it, and adjusted (translates to bent) the rod so that it is not binding anymore. The handle now has full range of travel, and doesn't appear to be sticking anymore. I think that I'll just keep spraying it down once a week or so and see if that helps as the handle still is a bit rough when opening the door....

i hqve the same problem w 98 expl but there is a little spring inside the latch itself that broke on mine....but i cant figure out how to get all thelinkages of the latch......anyone know what the trick is....any help is much appreciated
