I would like to replace my current stock automatic hubs on my 92 Explorer. Apparently Warn hubs are the best? If I buy manual hubs will they go right on or do I need to get other parts (ie. new spindle etc...) Should I just fix the automatic hubs? What's the most cost effective solution?
If the auto hubs are bad, the most cost effective solution is manual hubs. You can buy both manual hubs plus the "conversion kit" (consists of the different spindle nuts and such that are in manual hubs but not auto hubs) for the price of one auto hub. Since cost is mentioned, I'll mention that you can get Milemarker hubs for a little less than Warn hubs, but the debate rages on as to whether they hold up as well as Warn hubs.
