I just had some work done to the vehicle. It seemed as if the brakes were making noise. and it had that shuddering problem when accelerating. The dealership replaced three U joints and a center "something" bearing. That got rid of the shuddering. But the front end still makes noise even after they tightened the cross members? They said that they could lessen the noise but not totally get rid of it. Is there any way of totally getting rid of that popping noise that happens when I use the brakes??? Also there is whirring sound that seems to be associated with steering. Thanks in advance.
Here's what they did - do reduce the popping sound I was hearing - they dropped the crossmember, cleaned it up and reinstalled it.
For the shudderring - they replaced 3 U joints( are there only three or are there four?) - and replaced the center support bearing - This seems to have stopped the shuddering but the popping noise is still happening. Especially when I apply the brakes...
