Originally posted by Choctaw Bob Tim, mine is a old 6/03 build with the original flash. It runs fine.
Something I have noticed...It may be that some of the 6.0 problems are caused by the flash becoming corrupted. My truck started that rough idle romp. In getting ready for the race today, I changed the program to the 100 HP version. The romp went away. This is a great advantage of the predator, it saves an uncorrupted copy of our flash that we can use at any time.
So you're running the Predator with the stock June flash? When did you buy the truck? I have a June 03 build date, but I cannot be sure of what the current flash is on the truck. Is there anyway that I can tell to make sure?
I would love to get a Predator, but I want it to work with my truck. I have no issues with it right now and don't want to take it in for a reflash and get all the problems associated with it.
I bought My truck in December. I asked the dealer if they had refalshed the truck, they said no, they never work on new trucks until the new buyer discovers something wrong. Mine runs fine, no problems at all. It is my theroy that that some of the problems are corrupted data that disconnecting the batteries will cure. The predator works perfectly with my truck. I took the risk realizing that Diablo programming adds to the old, and if mine runs fine, I wanted to save my flash in the predator in case it became corrupted. Now I have the benefit of the predator also. I bought Auto Meter gages to moniter EGT and boost.

Chocktaw, I too, I suppose, am an old fart. (I qualify for Medicare.) I would like to know a little more about this racing thing. While I easily blew off a new F-150 this morning, I got edged out at a stoplight by a VW Passat yesterday on the way to work. ****ed me off. Ruined my whole morning. The little **** creep!! I don't seem to have much immediately off the line, but from about 25MPH on up it seems OK. But by then it is often too late. Is this what I read called turbo lag? It is a stock 6.0L PSD Lariat Supercab shorted, 3.73 limited-slip rear end with the Torqueshift tranny.
So, do you guys do drag racing? On the street, or the strip? Does the Predator make that much difference while racing? Does it get you better mileage around town?
While I am primarily interested in better mileage (some freeway, some around town), it tweaks my jaws when some rice burner or kraut burner beats me from the light. I wanna win.

Your thoughts please.
Thanks.
The Predator helps a lot. In the 65 HP performance/mileage mode it increased my mileage around .5 MPG at 80-85 cruise and town combo. I think if I drove it in moderation around town and 70 on the highway it would do better.
My truck is the same as yours, body, gearing, everything.
The predator will help you off the line. You can also power brake it to get the boost up if you want to leave harder. As long as you don't spin, it should help your launch.
The predator is the best money I ever spent on aftermarket parts. You will be amazed. Call FTE, they will give you a better price than the one they are forced to advertise and great service to boot.
