I have recently had my glow plug control module replaced. Ever since then the glow plug wait light will illuminate for about 6 seconds when the truck is cold or the first start of the day. After this the light stays lit for about 1 second each time I start the vehicle.
Should'nt it be on for about 6 seconds no matter what?
You don't say how long it stayed on prior to the repair or your ambient temperatures, but i don't believe you have anything to worry about. The light only stays on for a short period of time, however the glow plugs stay on for upto 2-minutes, even though the light is out, depending on ambient and engine temperature.
I have a 04 F250 and the first start the glow plug lights on for about 6 sec. that after that it's about 2 sec. just like yours. The temp in the morning here is 40's.

Should I have this looked at?
Where I live, it never gets below freezing. When the truck was new, I would turn on the ingition, and while waiting for the glow plug light to go off, I would belt up and get ready to crank her over. But I found that I don't need to wait. I can start her up immediately, glow plug light on or off. Fires right up every time.
