Question 351m

does anyone know the factory horsepower for a 351m in a 77 pickup

I think it is about 165-175 hp not for sure though.

Is that at the wheels or right out of the motor?

Not sure probably at wheels check out the bubba f250 website and that will tell everything you wanna know about this engine.

The factory never rated anything at the wheels. Engine HP ratings have always been measured at the flywheel. Since 1972 they've published the SAE net HP ratings which measures the engine with a complete exhaust and all accessories including emissions equipment. Prior to 1972 they published the SAE gross HP ratings which were also measured at the flywheel but the engines were stripped down to bare minumum, no accessories, no emissions, minimal exhaust.
