292 damper??????????
o.k. i realise it`s probably not called a damper,but thats what i`m calling it for lack of a better term.i`m talking about the peice on the rigt side of my crossover tube(if that`s what it`s called).it`s a lever hooked up to a spring.it worked fine when i bought my truck,but not at all now.what is it for?what is the proper running position?mine stays in the up position all the time now.i think the spring is wound to tight.how do i fix it,or do i even worry abot it at all?

Heat riser valve(can't think of the proper term). When your truck starts cold, the valve stays shut and forces the exhaust to go back through the drivers side manifold and throught the passage known as the "heat riser" which is in the intake. After going through the intake it exits out the passenger side manifold. Fallow? Once the truck warms up, it opens. -4speed
