Roller Rockers

I want to put some roller rockers on my gt-40p heads for my 88 351w buildup. Do I get a set that will fit any windsor or are the stud sizes different? Also, can I use the stock pushrods or do they have to be changed? What about the ratio? I was thinking 1.65 to 1 because thats mostly what I see or hear about around here. Thanks.

I believe you have 5/16th threaded pedestals on those heads. I doubt you have 3/8th. I bought a kit from crane cams that came with guide's with bushing's and studs made for the ford pedestal heads. It was $115.00 though. I guess the size rockers you want to run would be 1.6 to 1 those are fine. Now what I went threw was the following= Installed the roller rockers with the stock pushrods and the bottom of the rockers came in contact with the stud base, according to the instructions I needed atleast .030 clearance between them, remedy, needed longer push rods, stock rods were 8.125 long. Ordered a pushrod length checker from summit (trickflow $15) Then proceeded to check to see what size rod was needed. But I had to check valve train geometery. I had to make sure that after my clearance issue was resolved that the roller was riding as close to center on the valve stem as possible. Once I was where I thought I should be, I took a marker and colored the top of the valve stem (black) then installed the rocker and set it and turned the engine by hand until that rocker cycled. Removed the rocker and check to see where the roller was riding, Remember as close to the center as possible, if not the roller could actually roll off the valve stem or wear down the edge of the valve stem and end up with very little lift. I had the adjustable rod length checked at a machine shop and it measured at 8.326 and I bought 8.350 from summit. The kit from crane came with the instructions for setting adjustable rockers which is what you'll have. Hope this helped?
