Heated mirrors not working

Heated mirrors not working
Hey all, my wife has a 98 x sport 4x4 with the heated mirrors. The manual says they come on when the defrost is on, but we have yet to get them to work. Is there a common problem with these that is an easy fix?

Yeah...none of the Explorer models except Limited has heated mirrors for '95-'01 and Eddie Bauer and Limited for '02-present. You don't have heated mirrors, bud. I wish my Eddie Bauer has them too. Oh well...

It has the "heated" script on them and all the hook ups and wires for them, maybe they were replaced? My manual doesn't say anything about them being on certain models so I assumed they were factory.
