Cruise control

I bought a 2001 Ranger, after riding in some one elses I realized the the cruise control buttons should be lit when lights are on. Mine aren't. Is it easy to get into the steering wheel and replace them?

Don't get too hasty, if they ever have been replaced I've found the new ones don't light up anymore. I can't get a reason other than design change. And yes I know it sucks.

My 2000 CC buttons don't light but I think my girls 2002 do.

My neighbor had a 2001, and his lighted up. And so does mine, and I have a 2003. You have to take apart the pods to get to the lights. there is a way to convert them the LEDS, but I'm not sure how.
