No Display On Head Unit

Has anyone ever had a problem with the display going out on the cd player head unit? The CD player, radio, cd changer, controls, etc., work fine, but I can see what track is playing or what radio station is tuned because there is no display. It is a 98 Ford Exploerer XLT and the sound system is factory.

Search, this has been addressed more than one time. Just below this post was one about a navi. It is not an uncommon thing and there are fixes. Read the post.

Thanks for the help. I tried the fixes suggested, but to no avail. Guess I'll just order an aftermarket radio and take it from there. Again, thanks!

I had mine professionally repaired for $70. Just a thought.

IMO I really don't think the stock unit is worth $70 when you can get an aftermarket deck that is better in quality for just a little over $100.
