locking up a 3/4 ton

locking up a 3/4 ton

What do i weld to lock up the front and rear ends of a 1979 f-250 4x4. It has 4 inches of lift and 40's so i want it to be locked at all times cuz it is not a daily driver just a play truck. Thanks Stroke

You do realize that if you lock the front diff, it will make it difficult to turn. Even in loose dirt. That being said I'm not sure what to weld up in the diff to lock it. I think it's the spider gears but someone here will know.

Welcome to FTE...

There is a tech article with step by step instructions to weld a diff. Go to the "tech articles" link in the right hand column and look through the list of articles. I'm sure you'll find some other ones to look at too...

A minispool is pretty cheap, i would go with one of those, but a lincon locker is cheaper.
