distibuter question

i have a 72 f100 4x4 with a 1968 390 the distributer has 2 vacume ports on it .one is the regular vac advance and the second one i have no idea about .ive played with it hooking up vac lines and made no differance.someone told me it might be for deceleration .i scrapped the points and put in pertronix.it runs good .i had another 1971 390 and a 68 360 laying around and both had a single vac port . thanks for any comments

Those retard mechanisms were used for emissions systems, why would you want to hook it up?
