I am trying to find a up-graded valve train for a 90 4.0 2wd. My grandfather gave it to me and the lifters are raising hell and ive tried everthing to quite them up. I dont want to get rid of it because, the dealer looked up my VIN and there is only 2 rangers like mine made from the factory. posi rear, 5 speed auto, full interior, XL package, and stock with a K&N filter, it ran a 13.52 in the quater with 235/55/15 tires. so if anyone can help thank you
Welcome to FTE 90 4.0.
Your truck clearly qualifies as a very rare bird!
It is therefore your responsibility to repair it in a manor befitting it's rarity.
This, unfortunately, is usually more expensive. Use as many NOS parts as possible to keep it all Ford. Document all repairs if possible. Bite the bullet and have the repairs done at a Ford dealer whenever possible.
So, if it means doing the entire valve train, that will be the kind of repair that WILL increase it's value.
