I have a 93 f150 2WD auto w/E4OD About 2 weeks ago I was on the freeway when suddenly the speedo started to bounce around, at acceleration it will move slowly then at about 5-10MPH it starts to bounce between 10 and 20MPH of the actual speed. At the same time this happened my brakes got very stiff and seemed to pulsated at times. I also noticed that on the freeway it seems that the tranny cant make up its mind what gear to be in. All this happened at the same time.
I recently took the tranny in and they said all was OK, I then saw a number of people talking about the speed sensor maybe causing this so I replaced the speed sensor located in the top of the rear end. No change was noticed after that.
The rear end needs desperately to be rebuilt but Im sure that would not case this problem or would it
Please if you have any experiance with this post something
If the rear end needs to be rebuilt, it could be causing this problem. Anything that might cause the tone ring to become misaligned with the sensor could cause this.
