does anyone know of a source for quality door lock actuators(or aware of a fix) at a reasonable price? my electric locks are barely moving anymore. many thanks, Steve
Dealer changed the way there made now and there supposed to be a better design. They do look a little different.
I had to change out 3 all in 2 weeks of each other.
No other place has them but the dealers.
My Crew cab truck has just cycling the lock actuators. If I unplug a connector under the dash, then plug it back in the door locks do not cycle till I try to use them. Then it will not stop cycling till I unplug the connector again.
Could my actuators be bad? or could it be something else gone bad. It just started after a short trip to the store.
Hi Do a search for door lock actuators you should find lots of info it seems to be a common problem, was with mine. I bought mine on ebay they are generic door lock actuators and come with all hardware easy to install leave your old one's connected and add the new ones inline and splice into the wires for the locks. Does not take very long to do once you doo one. I only paid about $4 ea same ones that the alarm installers use. Good Luck
On my 96 the plastic gears just went out some how and when you hit the button it made a loud noise that would scare the %#$ out of you. One-time it started cycling over and over like the switch was stuck. Like listed above. I stopped it by pulling the fuse.
The dealer wanted $100.00 for new one. Purchased used one from local junk yard for $20.00 and installed (easy to take out hard to install back into the clip, never did get all the way back into the clip that holds it) once installed and fuse reinstalled everything worked fine.
