I need help finding a particular add-on towing mirror accessory. I have the old style manual mirror brackets that were used in the 80's and early 90's. The part I'm looking for fits between the door bracket and the mirror itself. A block bolts onto the door bracket where the mirror mounted originally. The block has a thumb-screw and an added flat chrome section approx. 6 inches long for the mirror to now mount on. The new chrome section slides through the block and the desired length is retained by the thumb-screw. Once fitted the mirror is approx an inch higher than stock but can be adjusted from nearly stock width to plus 6 inches with just the turn of a thumb-screw. Any information on a manufacturer or supplier would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
NoMo, thanks for the tip. I called my local RV dealers but had no luck. I was able to locate a dealer in MI and had them mailed in. They are model #8000 from Extend-A-Mirror.
I know this reply is kind of late but I am also looking for set of the the mirrors that you described in your post. If you can tell me where you got the Extend-a-Mirrors from I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried the **** slip on mirrors and they vibrate.
I know the bracket you're talking about. I don't know where to get it, but you can make it easy enough out of a piece of 1/8" to 1/4" thick x 1" to 1.5" wide steel flat stock and drill 2 holes, one in each end, bolt to mirror bracket and attatch mirror to flat stock.
What I did on mine was I used a pair of 7.5"x10" vertical Chevy style camper mirrors on 90 degree 'L' brackets (about 3/4" dia pipe) and mounted them on the Ford brackets. Got the mirror heads at PepBoys, the 'L' brackets at the junk yard.
