magnaflow or Flowmaster
Hey Guys,
A while back I saw a brand new Lightning Magnaflow muffler for sale on ebay. I thought about trying to get it but I had second thoughts. It was for the newer models (2000-030) I believe. Right now I have a flowmaster running single-in dual -out. Would the Magnaflow be a good or better investment performance wise or would it just do good as the flowmaster. I have a 2000 4.6L with a Typhoon air intake.
Any info or comments would be great.

You could run a high flow catalytic convertor. I dont think they offer it for youre truck, but I know Bassani manufacturs high flow Y pipes with high flow cats. I have one on my bronco, and its great. Is there a reason you as 'besides headers'? Do you have them already?

No I don't have headers on it, but I would like to but their expensive. I have a Jet Chip in it, it does okay, there a little difference, I got it cheap off of ebay. Any ideas or hints?

Sorry to tell you, but JET chips are pretty crappy. From the research I have done, not only do they provide no gains most of the time, in some cases, you lose power by running one. Diablo seems to be the class leader in chip performance. I fully intend on purchasing one when I pay off alot of my bills (never ending battle...). One of the best bang for the buck mods is in fact a chip.

Yeah, I have heard that too. I did not know that at the time when I got the JetChip. I thought my exhaust would be louder with it in, but it sounds the same and my truck seems to have lost some punch when it's in first and second, possibly loss of torque. Where is the cheapest place to get the Diablo

www.motorhaven.com is the best source to purchase it from (as it does help fund this wonderful forum we like to call Ford Truck Enthusiasts). Ken (aka Webmaster) burns all of the Diablo chips. If you any particular questions about them, you should check out the computer tuning forum. The FAQ is pretty in depth and answers most questions. Youre exhaust wont necessarily get louder with a chip, but the note might change due to slightly tweaked timing.

Another question. The throttle body spacers that airaid and other company's make, do they work. They're like 100 a pop . They supposed to mix the air for a better mixture by making it swirl or something. Any advice on those?
