Question Cruise Control Question

On my 03 6.0 4x4 when I press the cruise control on button (holding it down) and then press the coast button my horn goes off.

I know this is a stupid question but it is such an odd thing that I just had to ask.

This is normal. all my Fords do this! There are only so many wires going to the column for the steering wheel buttons. Fords uses a switch matrix without diodes to sense the switch contacts. Since they assume that you would never press these two buttons at once, they do not think it is a problem!

I guess that will support the position that this is the primary site for Ford diesel issues. We just continue to learn........

I've got to try that added feature (the auxillary horn button).

Seems like an easier way to blow the horn at all those people who just have to drive slow in the hammer lane.

after some deep thought why would we "press the cruise control on button (holding it down) and then press the coast button my horn goes off"
