Bye, Bye all

Turned in "RAV" (reacquired-lemon law buyback, etc.) Expy today. Six months of hell is finally over. I didn't even look back as we drove away. I know my experience was a fluke and the majority of you are great Ford Enthusiastics. Having owned a '95 Explorer and '00 Expy I was one of Ford's greatest cheerleaders until this 2003 "possessed" Expy. I have since changed brands and have yet to experience any type of service issue - nor should I. For those of you contemplating a battle with your dealer or, ultimately FMC, stay diligent, keep copious notes, be honest but not emotional (it's only a machine) and most of all, stay determined. The consumer laws do work and will protect you if your ownership experienced has turned "sour".

TB61,
I'm glad it's over for you. I thought the same thing and guess what ? The bank started calling last week wanting to know where their payment is. I explained to them what happened and I haven't had the vehicle for over 2 weeks. they said how bad they feel for me but, I owe them for the vehicle and it's overdue. I talked to my friend at the review board and she said the bank is correct they haven't paid it off yet. The check is going out today so I told her she needs to add 25.00 for the late fee and she told me it is my problem they will not pay the late fee. I told her it's a shame that I am going to have to hire an Attorney for 25 bucks because Ford screwed up again. At this point it's the principle and I will pay the late fee to keep it off my credit report but I will recoup it from Ford.
By the way, I asked to speak to her supervisor and she would not transfer me, he is supposed to call me back.

DN27,

Yes, the car has been returned and yes, Ford Motor Credit has already called me wanting to know where payment is. One would think that this whole issue could easily be resolved with a phone call from Ford to Ford!!!! I sent them documentation which substantiated the settlement and loan payoff and told them this better not reflect negatively on my credit. I'll keep you posted if I should have the same negative experience as you in getting your loan payed off. While I'm posting here, I want to say "thank you". I really thought I was going crazy there for awhile during the onset of the problems I had, but your posts acknowledged that indeed the problems with vibration and shimmy and clunks and rattles and component failures wasn't imagined or contrived. Thanks again.

Update, I just sent another 120.00 dollars because Ford didn't pay it off in time so there are late charges and interest plus some other charge. Ford did say they will reimburse when they get proof I had to pay. They sent the bank my check I had made out to them and the bank sent it back to the dealership so I had to stop payment and send in a new one overnight. So now I'm up to almost an additional 175.00. I'm beginning to think the person that built my 03 Expy is running the buy back department.
But the bright side is I get to come back here and keep up on what is happening in the forums.
