it gets pretty hot during the summer where i live and with no air it really stinks, that's why i was thinking about unbolting the doors from my truck for the summer only and then putting them back on at the end of the summer, i would only be driving locally. does anyone have a reason i should not do this? how hard are the doors to put back on? has anyone else done this?
thanks my truck is a 79 1/2 ton 4x4
You must be in a town of about 100. Because Here with about 4000 i wouldn't leave my truck unlocked alone for 10 minutes. People around here do stupid crap to other people's nice things. Some people around here need to be dragged behind my truck for the dumb crap they do. Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People Dumb People
I wouldn't take the doors off unless you want animals living in it and it filled with water when it rains. Roll the windows down. How nice do you want you truck to be in 5 years?
i have been told you can just remove the pins on the hinges to pop the doors off. go find the user Fishy, he does it to his truck alot and told me how to do it, but i haven't done it yet to know for sure, so he could tell you better.

Jeeps "get away with it" since they are designed for door removal (hence the quick release hinges and retaining straps), and more importantly, the (non-removable) lower kick panel which protects the drivers feet/lower legs and doesn't allow loose items to roll around on the vehicles floor and fall out of the vehicle.
Are you serious? Jeeps are built that way Ford Trucks are not. Call your loacl or state police and ask them what the law is. Around here there's no way!! I wouldn't want to. I don't have seat belts so I could slide right out...
you would have to mount the side mirrors on the cowl..or hood. Even if there isnt any laws about removing doors..you still will recieve a moving violation for not having side mirrors...
