I found out why my 352 is running rough when i pulled the intake to fix the seal, I pulled the pushrods and at least 4 of them are bent pretty badly( if i remember right it is cylinder numbers(1,3,4,8) I dont recall if they were on the intake or exhaust valve, they are the stock length of 9.62, and it is just a mild cam, with stock hydraulic lifters, the heads were surfaced, but why would a stock pushrod buckle like that, they look bent down were they meet the lifter, they were straight towards the rocker assembly, could it be because i forgot to pump up the lifters with oil, or because the pushrod was too long? I am clueless!
before i replace them, i would like your expert advice on this matter, for I am just a newbie, and need help, any one have experience in the area of the valvetrain?
Would this have damaged any other parts in the valvetrain, such as cylinder heads or the camshaft?
there is a tech artical on this site called ' bent pushrods, fords dirty secret ' ,that has all the info you woll need for installing the new ones. i have been there and done that, bob
