What to do?

With the tax money this year( About 5k) my wife and I were going to try to sell her explorer and get something newer with less miles. She cannot find anything she likes for cash (about 8-9k) and I refuse to make payments. so she said I could sell my truck and use the tax money to get a newer less millage truck.

A little history on my 95 F150 Bought last year for $3500 state inspected I now think the inspection was BS because of problems i have had. nothing major just little things. Under the hood is a replaced engine. supposedly it was replaced at 220,000 with and engine that had 35,000 on it 10/2 I bought the truck in 7/03 BUT the OD only says 213,00 now. So how could it have been replaced at 220,000. Needles to say I have no idea how many miles are on the truck. I am assuming it is only around 100k but ??? I have just put on 4 new cooper stt tires and remote starter keyless and some other stuff.

My question is what is your opinions as to sell the truck or take the money and put into current truck Like a new engine and transmission and of course 4" lift or look for newer and less miles. i truly like the body style of the 92-96 better than the newer styles. The engine and trans seem fine now but are an unknown entity.

Tuff call. Sometimes it is better to deal with the devil you know than the one you don't. If you think your truck is a good all around truck and you like it, keep it and go on vacation with the money.

Id just put the money up and continue to look for something for each of you. If you find something, talk to her and if she agrees then buy it, same for you... if she finds something and you like it also... buy it
Save the money and buy what you want.

Just watch your back and make sure the lady is happy and satisfied in the end. Sounds like you like your truck, I'd say keep it for awhile longer at least. -William

p.s. what buyers don't know won't hurt them.

save your money. Unless you desperately need a vehicle now. less miles isn't an excuse.
