transmission troubles
I have been experiencing a slight tremor when starting out. It seems to happen when the truck is cold. After it has been warmed up it seems to go away. I suspect the transmission. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I have a 2004 4X4 XLT crew cab with a 5.4 triton with 1200 miles

Some people have had this problem. It's the limited slip diff. Ford knows about it. There is a fix out on it. Contact your dealer and tell them.--Jack

I may have the same tremor as ur truck,mine only does it the first time i drive it each day,and its only on take off for few seconds.after that its fine.but when first got truck from day one had thumping everytime taking off from stop.turn out to be drive shaft ford replaced.took care of that problem. 2004 fsx 5100 miles

I have had the same problem with my FX4 SCREW 5.4 with 3:55 until yesterday. I took it to the dealer and described the problem and they immediately said that it probably needed a clutch pack. This is a one day job provided that the dealer has the parts. Had it back a day and seems to be running very smooth. Will post again if the problem comes back.
