Need More Black Smoke
Does anyone know how to get more black smoke out of a 96 psd so far i have the superchip microprogrammer in it with it set on 110hp and about 6 feet of straight 5" exhaust i just love seeing diesels blow the black smoke any ideas

You know - I'd like to blow a little more smoke myself!! By buddy has a (gasp) Dodge with 5" stacks and he can blow almost full black out of them when he gets on it hard and all he has done to his truck is a box (that reads chip to us Ford guys). I know I probably won't get smoke like that - but how 'bout it guys?? Someone has to know the secret here?????

Injectors will help give some power and smoke, if you were serious about smoke you would send your pump in and have it tweeked. A bigger chip would give you a good amount of smoke as well, the TS 140hp boxes give a nice amount of smoke...

what frigging pump are you talking about? Black smoke is wasted fuel. injectors, and with a 96, your Superchips is 110, it is 80 at best. The early powerstroke injectors are kinda weak, and without injectors or propane you are going to see huge power increases as the injectors cant provide the fuel

Yea um... the chip didn't do it. I went from a Superchips tuner and Edge EZ stacked, to a TS flip chip (s,50,100,125) and I lost smoke - not gain. I'm wondering if TS could make me a "smoke" program and replace the 125 setting on my chip??? - it's a bit much for me, the 100 is PLENTY. Think I might give them a call on Monday..... No one knows how to make a PSD smoke like a pullin' truck?????

Pumps we don't got no stinking pump !!!!!!!!other than a lift pump you need a big chip like TS or a DI 120 hp and over my TS on the 125 setting smokes like a fright train. but if you play these games you need a EGT gauge so you don't melt anything Have fun. Catch code can make differance my truck has an NVK base code. Also a big old set of injectors will make smoke. Check out the gallery at www.dieselinnovations.com they have smoke
