I have heard that Broncos with 351m with AC have a wider radiator than Bronco without. Can I hope that maybe I can still use this radiator with the 460 that I am about to drop in? Also how can I tell if it is a 3 or 4 core radiator? It has some numbers on it that makes it look like it came from a wrecking yard, but im not sure. I also have an auxillary tranny cooler in front of the radiator that is for some reason not hooked up, lines go to radiator instead. Also If i were to look for a radiator in a wrecking yard what kind should I look for, amd how much should I expect to pay? Thanks for the help, i just want to get everything figured out brfore I drop the motor in.
the best , simplest way , would be to go ahead and use that one , i think it will be fine . after you get it running , and if it doesnt cool well enough , which i doubt you will have any problem with , you can make the improvments then ,bob
That is what I will most likely do. Another question: I have a spare clutch fan, a flex fan, and a 16 inch electric fan I just got from a friend brand new, which one would be my best choice? Thanks for the help.
A single 16" electric is probably not enough to keep your truck cool in stop and go traffic. I would lean towards the flex fan in your application but you would also be safe with the clutch fan.
if i had the time and the parts , i would use the flex fan , and use the electric fan in front of the radiator as a backup, that way no matter what happens , you are covered ,bob
