This is not my week Not only do i have to replace my locking hubs... my rear drive shaft just broke on me. and when it did it banged the hell out of my muffler. it looks like a crushed coke can. Does any one know where i can get a new drive shaft. i have looked locally and they are quoting me 225 for a new one and it is not even a heavy duty one. that price cant be right. does any know where i can get a new one at a good price???? or even a heavy duty one for a decent price???
the other question i have is... since i have to replace my muffler i was thinking that i might as well replace my whole exhaust system. i was thinking flowmasters...... does any one have any suggestions????
I don't mind poring my money into my bronco but i don't want to get ripped off in the process.
when you say whole system do you mean from the manifold to the catylic converter to the muffler then tips? if so that is expensive....for a flowmaster 40 series muffler and pipes is around 300 including installation.
For the drive shafts, try Tom Woods at http://4xshaft.com/ or High Angle Drive Line at http://www.highangledriveline.com/ and I'm sure there are quit a few more companies out there. I had to replace both my shafts recently and purchased mine from Tom Woods. My rear shaft Is huge, It baerely misses the muffler. It's also of the 1 ton version along with 1350 u-joints. I accually paid a little more to have them grind on the CV joint for clearance, for when I add some more Suspension lift.Rather be safe then sorry.
For the muffler, like a few people mentioned, go with flowmaster. I have one of their single in dual out muffler. Pipes & tips routed to both sides behind the rear tires. And it sounds too cool. It's not too loud, but I've accually set off a few car alarms.
