NP 435 Help
I have a 72 F250 4x4 Camper Special. It has the NP 435 4 sp. tranny in it with the granny low gear. It also has the PTO port on the side, but not all the parts to run it. In other words the tranny never had it set up for the truck from the factory.
I lost my synchro-gears and bought a replacement kit. I have taken it apart and replaced the synchro's and put it back together. The tranny (Sitting on my garage floor) still does not shift smooth, and in all gears, it seems like it binds up.
In neutral, I can start to spin the yoke and it turns ok. Then it slowly starts to bind and will not turn. If I turn the yoke back just a tad and turn it forward again, it turns fine until it starts to bind again. It does this in all gears.
Can anyone give me a few pointers? I am going to completely tear down the tranny today and see if I can find a sping or bearing or something that might be causing the problem.
