Question 351W EFI conversion.

I want to convert my '85 351W to EFI. What would be the easiest way to swap on EFI? Mustang EFI, truck, or cob something together from a early '80s grand marq? I need something that would be able to pass emissions (but not CA emissions though) at least.

You mean for their ProJection system? I looked at that, but I wondered if it was smog legal. It would be great since you can bolt it on to a regular 4bbl intake..

I was thinking along the way of ford factory, but the projection would work if it was smog legal..

I believe that had it has a CARB exemption number, making it emissions legal, even in CA. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

that would be the ticket then.. need to figure out the smog pump and etc though.

I'm pretty sure there is no smog pump, and if there is on the truck currently, run it to where it runs now. It won't hurt power, and it should act just like an air scrubber on wheels. JK, but it won't hurt to leave it on, and if it doesn't work no(smog pump) don't worry about it, it doesn't do that much.

I feel for you. Here in central Il, they don't care if you run an IHRA Pro Stock engine, as long as the exhaust doesn't exceed the cop's liking.

Check the local law I believe u only have to be emissions legal for the year of your vehicle, so the emissions of the EFI motor would have to be atleast equal to the carb or less. That isn't hard at all with EFI
