Changing rail pump
Hey all, this is my first post here (but I lurk a lot). My '86 5.0 EFI won't start and I believe I've traced it to a faulty rail pump. So my friend and I are changing it, following the Chilton manual we disconnect the battery and unscrew the housing. When I removed the rear fuel line (coming from the tank), it starts *pouring* fuel out. Opening the gas tank slowed it down to a slow stream, but the flow won't stop. The only way to stop it is to plug it back into the bad (I hope, I was going to test it more on the bench) pump. I think it's just siphoning from the tank, but I can't find any references on how to make this stop. Any ideas? My only other ride is a motorcycle, and that's not too much fun in the rain
