Air Filter
Now that I have the FIPK, throttle response is even better, it has more power, and also a lot louder. It's awesome. Fuel mileage went up an extra mpg so I can get around 21mpg on the highway compared to 18, 19mpg.
New factory vs. K&N: little difference. The K&N will flow more air than the factory filter as they become dirty. Be careful not to over oil, it can dirty your MAF and throttle body. The original price will eventually be saved back by the longer life of the K&N. I have a factory style filter in my '02 Mountaineer, but have K&N's in my '00 Suzuki Grand Vitara and my '85 Corvette. As for gas mileage, I can't say if it improved in the Suzuki, maybe 1 or 2 MPG, and MPG in the Vette is not an issue.
