lifters go dry when pulling

lifters go dry when pulling
When the engine rev's high and i am pulling a load, the lifters (more than one but not all) will go dry. after about 15 miles they will return to normal.
what could cause this, oil; pressure is good, 100k on engine.
I have seen from other posts that this looks like a common problem with this engine, but have not seen and explinatin as to why
