8'' lift for '78

I want to lift my Bronco 8'', but I'm not sure if I want to do a total 8" body or total 8" suspension or what? Also, I know once that I lift my truck I'm going to have to change my gears. I'm not sure what I have under the truck right now (411's?) What will I have to change them to? Is 8" even going to make a difference? Also, after the lift will I be able to put 44" tires on my truck? Anybody who knows... PLEASE help me out here, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

You will not fit 44's with 8 inches, unless you do some fender trimming. I have a 6 inch susp. and 3 inch body on mine. Combine these with the Bushwacker Cut-Out Flares, then you'll have enough room for 44's.

And please, do not do an 8 inch body lift.

8" ain't gonna clear 44's without fender trimming. I've seen some with custom 14" of lift clearing 44's but they look as if much offroad flex they'd rub. The main rule most follow if offroanders is stay low on lift and fender trim. But in no way will the stock gears work with 44's. 5.13's or so ratio is what most run with 44's.

I think if you ask for a price on an 8" body lift you would get bitch slaped.

I use to own a 78 with 44's. I had 9 inch springs if I recall correctly and a 3 inch body lift buy I never went off roading with that set up and I never trimmed my fenders. I had the stock 3.50 gears but I had a 4 speed trans with the quick first gear so driving it around wasn't a problem.

if i were you i would run a smaller tire than a 44, maybe a 38 or 40 with a 6" suspension lift and a 3" or so body lift.
