VIN # 11 characters long??

I purchased car fax for our Expedition but was curious to see the history of my 78' F150. When I put the VIN # on my title in, it was only 11 characters long and Car Fax would not accept it. So Im curious as to why its only 11 long...

That's they way they did them back in the 70's to 1980.

For researching VIN's > get an AAA membership,they have the best system.
