Beware Jeffs Bronco Graveyard

Has anyone else had to pay return shipping on wrong items?

They sent me the wrong radius arm then charged me return shipping. It's not the first time they've jacked my orders up, but small stuff isn't expensive to return.

Do yourself a favor, go to your local Ford dealer first, it'll get you back on the road sooner and cheaper!

Have you called them and explained the situation? I sold jeff some parts last year and he seems real cool, I think they may be willing to help.

You can't go by the descriptions or pictures on the JBG website when ordering either. I ordered a BW1356 rebuild kit, and when I received it there was a lot of stuff that was listed as being part of the kit that was missing. When I asked where the rest of the parts were, I was told "The web page is wrong, that price is for a partial kit, if you want the full kit, send us $30 more". They don't (or didn't anyway) list a partial kit! And if you order the axle pivot bushings, don't expect them to come with the shell (as pictured), because they don't. And their answer to that one was "That's the way we sell them now"
So, I don't deal with them any more.

They don't answer questions for Jack either. However, there are a few parts that they are the only people that seem to have.

I've dealt with JBG off and on for the past 10 yrs now, and have had no problems with them. Used them for parts on both my old beastie and my EB. Prices arent always the greatest, but if it exists, they usually know where to find it.

Well three weeks later, and they credited my card minus 10% "restocking fee" after I returned the wrong part to them.

I work from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and JBG isn't open on Saturday (unlike the local Ford dealer parts department). I'd call Jeff if I thought it would do any good, but I'm pretty sure Mark and Tom are following instructions.

all i know is the Ford dealer is NOT any better on prices. i went there to get my clutch spring that i cant find at any yard out here, and they wanted $86.99 for a damn spring! then last week i went there and was looking for the water pump bolt that i broke and they wanted $18.00 for 1 bolt! that has to be the worst prices i have seen anywhere....i know i will never buy any parts from ford...they tell me my '81 bronco is too old to recut me a key the throttle linkage is no longer available for my year oh and that spring is also a part that isno longer made...maybe my ford dealer sucks out here but i know i will not shop there. another thing i could not believe, when i had taken my truck to figure out my electrical they actualy called me to ask what motor i had in my bronco i couldnt believe that. and on the graveyard topic, ive heard positve and negative about them....it seems to be alot more positive though.

just my experiences

That sound exactly like the Ford Dealers here. they will not even look up parts for anything earlier then 84. The ford dealers here are NOT a source for parts, You might as well go to 7-11 and ask for parts. You'd get the same dumb looks from the counter people , but at least you can get gas and a slurpie.

Even if bronco graveyard isn't the best, they sell some used parts and you take your chances. same as buying a used part anywhere else. they DID send me the right disk brake proportioning valve and it was $40 less then anywhere else.

Personally I've had some issues with calling them on the phone too. They act like they are doing you a favor to talk to you. I ether buy form the online store or just use another vender.

Do you actually believe that a Ford dealer will be any better? 75% of the time, the second you mention the year, Ford parts clucks say OBSOLETE! whether the parts are obsolete or not.

The thing is that today, parts guys don't need to look up a single part, all they have to do is type the VIN into the system, ALL the part numbers appear on the screen.

Because of this, most parts guys don't want to bother and find some excuse to just "shine you on."

Plus, most parts guys don't know diddly squat about vehicles that are more than ten years old. The newest 'full sized' Bronco is 22 years old.

I worked in a Jeep {Chrysler Dealership} for many years, we had the same system punch in a vin there it goes I was one of the few that would take the time to look up in the books the older stuff while the other guys would nope, not available, it was no wonder I had people that would only deal with me on all there stuff as most figured if I would help for the older things I would on there new stuff also, use to **** off alot of counter guys.

What he said...

And if the truth was known about dealer pricing (does not have to go by FORD SRP). And the counter person can change the list price if he feels entitled or you p!ss him off.

The introduction of the CDP was meant to allow the dealer to hire monkeys to sell parts. You now use the MPC with blinders on. The guy works on commission and good customer service does not pay the bills.

I once worked for a parts room that ordered plastic bags for the customer to carry out multiple parts. The General Manager walked through one day, saw it and made him (Parts Manager) return them.

You need to find one of the many FORD Online dealers And stay with a counter-person you can trust. You can cross-check their pricing. MOTORCRAFT is sold online at sometimes ridiculously cheap pricing.

You find the PN you need and GOOGLE for pricing.

STAY AWAY FROM DEALERS UNLESS YOU ARE IN DIRE STRAIGHTS AND THIS INCLUDES NEW CAR PURCHASE AND AFTER WARRANTY REPAIRS!

Been there, done that and have the windbreakers collection to document it...

And does not give a sh!at. If you don't buy that pretty truck, others are lined up to buy it.

Over the past I can't remember how many years, I've built at least 5 trucks sourcing parts from JBG. I can count on less than one hand how many times I've had an order screwed up, they've always made it right. I've spoken to Jeff several times, he's always seemed like a pretty down to earth guy; some of the employees okay not so much. You're gonna run into that no matter where you go. I try to avoid the "stealerships" as much as possible.
