Tore my driveline out the other night, stepping on the skinny peddle again. Any way; got out picked up rear drivline, from the middle of the road, and threw it in the back of the truck. Locked in front hubs, shifted to 4Hi and proceded to drive home. Man talk about torq steer! Anyway driving along and all of a sudden it, the trany transfercase combo, acts like it popped out of gear and then it pops back in. Usualy after a bit of finnessing with the skinny peddle. My speedo also jumps as the engine frees itself from the moving of the truck. So I think its my transfer case. what could cause this?
I just noticed it with the front locked in, driving home the other night. It doesn't happen anymore often turning than it does straight. I guesse it could be my hubs, but what would cause them to lock and then unlock?
Still need alot of parts to convert over from auto. Bellhousing, clutch, lingaged, ect.
On a side note I might be picking up a 82 F150 with a i6 and a c6 auto, for $500. Make that my daily driver and retire the beast to what it does best....play in mud!!
Since your speedometer is driven off of the t-case output and it is jumping as the engine free revs when the drivetrain disconnects, I'd check the hubs(stranger things have happened) and if there is nothing found wrong with them or the front diff, check the t-case linkage, and then the t-case itself.
