Today, actually yesterday now, I got the brakes and steering in pretty good shape. So, tonight, I pile the wife and myself in the project to go for some dinner. I hit the starter, click. I jigger with the gear selector (C6 auto), thiking maybe the nuetral position sensor is off....click. A few more attempts, and the same click.
The wife snickers a bit. I ask, what's so funny. She replies "This like a $20,000 project and........... click" .
Ahhhhrrgggg!!!!!!!!!!
I'll dig a bit deeper tomorrow. But, oh the frustration :-) One day it's 500HP monster the next day it's....click!
At least you didn't get a nice little voice telling you that "a door is a jar"...
Seriously that click was probably the solenoid. Your starter wire may not be on, the starter may be bad, a battery connection may be bad, or the ground cable to the engine may be off.
The wire came off the starter (he smaller trigger wire, this is a Jeg's Pro-Starter). That's what itwas actig like last nigt. But, thewire had wedged itself somewhere esle in motion, so whe nI tugged it still felt connected. It was a small repair with parts available in my shop :-)
The steering feels much better and the brakes are improving.
How do wires just wiggle off like that? Today I started the truck up and went off to the car wash. I looked down at the temp guage and it hit 200 and was still moving. I got out and the fan wasn't running. I popped the hood and the main power wire had come off. You have the fan so you know that it takes quite a bit of force to push that connector on or take it off. I hooked it back up and everything was fine.
