I have an 81 F250 2 wheel drive that has 16.5 inch rims on it. I am looking to put 16 inch rims on so the tires are not so damned expensive every time they need replacement. Does anyone know if this will work? I guess the biggest concern would be an interference fit with caliper on the front?
16's fit fine and you can get 15's to fit....i am gonna be doing that since I run large tires. you just need to grind down your calipers a lil bit at a time until it fits!
Thanks guys.
The truck had 16.5 aftermarket wheels when I got it. I paid $250.00 for it and drove it home, so I really can't complain to much. I have enjoyed working on it over the past few months, I think I have hit the junkyards about twice a month since the purchase.
Hey George, The truck came from the factory with 16`s. Fishmann, I don`t mean this in a rude manner, I`m just confused. I`ve never seen 15" wheels with eight lugs, of couse, I`m from the country. Enlighten me please. Do you have special made 15" wheels custom-made for eight lugs or what? Horton
Fishman, That`s good to know. Future plans for my Jeep are a 14 bolt and Dana 60 out of a `79 K30. Now I won`t have to replace the brand new 35x12.50x15`s I have on it now.
