Disc Brake Quiet?
The pads that came with the set have what appears to be a thin layer of something that might be for that purpose, but I am not sure! Guess it wouldn't hurt to use some. I have it in a spray can that I have used for all my brakes before, and if I sprayed a nice layer on them and let the stuff dry, they would be ready to install tomorrow.
Just looking for your thoughts and knowlege on this one? Also, I am going to bleed my brakes with a vacuum pump I just purchased. Seems like this will be much easier than the old two person method. Have almost 30K miles now,and it is due for a fluid change/bleed. Looks like Ford recommends DOT 3 and I have an un-opened sealed bottle of Super Heavy Duty DOT3 Prestone Brake fluid. Assume this is ok to use.
Decided not to change the rotors and pads yet. The squealing I heard must have been some debris with all this salt and sand with the recent weather.
The existing brakes are in good shape, so going to hold on to the ART's for now and change them when I see the pads down a little more. Guessing I will get about 50K or more on the originals based on how much pad is left.
