distributor problem 370
Just put rings in a 700 ford with a 370 engine. Everything worked fine till I hooked up the vacuum advance. With vacuum advance hooked up engine back fired through carb. and exhoust and quit. Put in a new pick up coil. Didn't help put on a new vacuum advance, no better. put in a new distributor plate, still no better. Hooked up external vacuum source and the slightest vacuum caused the engine to back fire. Using the truck with out vacuum advance works fine but want to find the problem so I can sleep at night.
any help would be much appreciated!
